Space is infinite. Your resources are not.

The space probe Wayfarer 1 was once the pinnacle of human achievement. Its original mission now satisfied, it pushes into depths of space previously unimaginable. As its data becomes strange and its transmissions corrupted, Mission Control fights dwindling resources and mission compromise to maintain the connection as long as it can.

Maintain the connection as long as you can.

WAYFARER 1 is a two-player letter-writing game about maintaining connection against impossible odds. In it, you'll use a six-sided die and the letter-writing medium of your choice to create and interpret increasingly erratic and redacted communications.

One day, that connection will break. One of you will fade away, or die, or become so alien to the other that further communication is pointless.

When the connection finally dies, that, too, is the story.

WAYFARER 1 is two zines (14 pages for Wayfarer I, 12 pages for Mission Control) written by Ken Lowery with cover art by Morgan Thomas. Each PDF includes instructions for play and a link to the official WAYFARER 1 Discord, should you choose to play your game for an audience.

WAYFARER 1 by Ken Lowery is under the Creative Comrades License Agreement 1.0.
